Summary/Objective

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions serves as the operational lead for Kogod’s graduate admissions and enrollment management functions; serves as a CRM expert for the office; and coordinates with other units within the school such as career development, graduate programs office, and faculty departments. 
This position is responsible for analyzing, synthesizing and presenting key data driven admissions information to KSB’s faculty, senior leadership and other administrative units on campus to inform KSB graduate enrollment strategy and ensure revenue targets are met.
The Associate Director also serves as a senior member of the Graduate Admissions Committee, evaluating application files, conducting required applicant evaluative interviews, participating in admissions decisions, and actively recruiting and converting applicants to Kogod graduate programs throughout the year.  The Associate Director manages the graduate admissions committee in the absence of the Director.
The majority of job functions for this position are performed without direct supervision.

Essential Functions

  1. Admissions Operations: Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for managing the flow of materials and communications for prospects and applicants through each stage of the application process.  Manages technology systems for inquiries and applications to the programs, including annual update process.  Uses CRM system to create and implement a communication plan for each application cycle, including yield efforts.  Generates ongoing reports and analysis of activities to track success of marketing strategies through application and enrollment data.  Distributes weekly enrollment reports to senior leadership in the dean’s office.  These reports include year over year reporting and trend lines in application metrics; submitted, completed, admitted, and deposited.  These reports also present information on conversion and yield rates as well as tracking class profile metrics such a test scores and GPAs.  Collaborates with Marketing and Communications team on targeted prospect outreach efforts as well as Admissions website updates. Liaises with the Office of Financial Aid and AU Central to maintain and post scholarships appropriately by semester.  Will also maintain internal tracking of demographic information, scholarship offers, historical trends, and scholarship prediction models.
  2. Admissions Committee: In coordination with Director of Admissions, makes admission decisions and merit scholarship offers for to all KSB graduate programs.  Reviews admission files and determines eligibility.  Conducts individual counseling sessions with graduate applicants.  Performs evaluative personal interviews.  Evaluates application credentials, including international transcripts.  Manages the graduate admissions committee in the absence of the Director and will make and issue admissions and scholarship decisions without the Director when needed.
  3. Admissions Recruiting: Represents KSB Admissions and University internally and externally at recruiting events, including domestic and international travel. May independently present KSB graduate programs and application process to prospective students and external partners, and maintains contact with these groups to establish relationships.  With Director of Admissions, develops recruitment and enrollment plans utilizing demographic information, and historical trends; identifies and targets national and international markets to generate inquiries and applications and meet enrollment goals.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Coordinator and graduate assistants report to this position.

Work Environment

  • Travel required - up to 10% of the time.

Salary Range

  • Commensurate with experience.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in business, education, or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of graduate admissions experience, preferably with an accredited business school or similar graduate professional school.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical expertise in the use of basic and advanced features of Ellucian Recruit. 
  • Familiarity with HubSpot is preferred.
  • Ability to solve technical problems independently
  • Ability to design, implement and evaluate plans to improve unit staff capacity to use advanced features of Recruit to achieve workflow efficiencies and improve communications with prospective applicants.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies (students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents)
  • Experience working with a diverse population, strong interpersonal skills, team-orientation, and ability to work on many tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Background and successful track record in sales, marketing, and promotion.
