The Budget Specialist, Restricted and Online is responsible for initiating and reviewing day-to-day financial transactions for scholarships, restricted accounts, externally funded grants and online programs. This position assists with the development, review, and monitoring of all restricted, externally funded and online accounts. The Specialist conducts regular reviews of scholarship, restricted and online program operating budgets (expense and revenue) to ensure that financial transactions are completed successfully, accurately and in accordance with KSB and University policies. The position provides regular budget reports and financial analysis reports.

Work Environment

  • This Budget Specialist, Restricted and Online reports directly to the Assistant Director, Financial Operations and will work closely with the other Budget Specialist, the Sr Assistant Dean for Budget, Finance and Administration, Online Partnership Assistant Dean, Office of Sponsored Programs, Grants & Contracts Accounting, KSB Admissions, Development and Financial Aid
  • The position works with HR/Payroll, Controller’s Office, Budget Office, KSB faculty, staff and students. The position works with accounts with an average revenue of $2 million

Salary Range

  • Commensurate with experience

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or the equivalent in training, education and experience and 2 years of financial experience in accounting and/or budgeting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Datatel finance system a plus. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree
