About the Department/Unit
Summary/Objective
Essential Functions
-
Communications & MarketingDevelop and implement communication strategies and campaigns that bolster the reputation of the department and position RecFit programs, facilities, and services as essential to the student experience. Serve as the media contact for the department, and leverage its presence in print and digital media.

Membership & Guest ServicesResponsible for membership and guest related functions for all fitness facilities, including but not limited to: program registrations, payment processing, membership recruitment, membership registration and services, recreation equipment operations, locker rentals, and general customer service protocols/applications. Other responsibilities include: the development, delivery, administration and guidance of all client relation services including customer service protocols, training of guest services and reception staff, member and guest services management.

Operations & Financial ManagementOversees all front desk operations including, check in software, money handling, and accounting for all membership sales. Coordinate all financial transactions for memberships and services.

SupervisionSupervises the Member Services & Facility Coordinator including providing direction and feedback to the PMP process. Also supervises student print and digital media team.

AdministrationContribute to planning, promoting, implementing and evaluation of events and activities to further the mission of Recreational Sports and Fitness. Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating departmental policies and procedures related to customer service, member/guest access, and marketing and communications.

Directly supervises the Member Services & Facility Coordinator.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or a related field.

2-4 years of relevant experience
-
At least 2 years of experience related to membership management, guest services management, campus recreation program management, marketing or communications.
Preferred Education and Experience
-
Master's degree or equivalent in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or a related field.
-
3-5 years of relevant experience
-
4+ years of experience in facility supervision, personnel management and member services.
-
Experience in higher education recreation and student services settings.
-
CPR & AED
-
Experience with content management systems, HTML, email marketing software, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Sales and marketing experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Strong computer skills
-
Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communications skills.

Demonstrated ability to write for web, print and social media.
-
Ability to apply communications skills to the web.

Excellent interpersonal skills
-
American Red Cross CPR, First Aid and AED certification.

Familiarity with basic HTML and content management systems.

Working knowledge of current social media tools.

Familiarity with basic budget monitoring and financial transaction processing.
