Part-Time Graduate Program Coordinator, International Training and Education Program (ITEP)

Summary/Objective

The Graduate Program Coordinator is the principal point of contact for prospective, current, and alumni graduate students within the International Training and Education Program (ITEP), which is one of the five graduate programs offered in the School of Education (SOE).

 

This position supports ITEP in increasing enrollment and enhancing program quality by advising and being responsive to students from the prospective to post-graduation stages. This position maintains an in-depth knowledge of and is able to communicate with all constituents about the SOE graduate programs, university regulations, and academic and graduation requirements in order to ensure that graduate students and our alumni have accurate information and guidance. This position is responsible for: developing and regularly documenting student programs of study; maintaining student enrollment, matriculation, and graduating requirements; assisting with the development of the SOE course schedule based on these enrollment needs; and supporting program events such as orientation, open houses, forums and panels, and an annual student research conference.

 

The Graduate Program Coordinator reports to the ITEP Program Director. The Graduate Program Coordinator collaborates and facilitates communication between the Assistant Dean, the ITEP Program Director, the faculty within the department, and students enrolled in the program. Additionally, she/he/they collaborates with University and College offices (including the Office of Financial Aid, the University Registrar) to provide student support services.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • 27 hours/week
  • The preferred schedule for work hours is Monday through Thursday, 12-6 pm with the remaining three hours as flex time (potentially from home)
Salary Range
  • $18/hour
Required Education and Experience
  • Work experience in international educational settings
  • Bachelor's degree with at least two years’ academic advising or other relevant work experience with student populations
  • A documented record of excellent expressive and receptive English language abilities, productivity, personal, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work during occasional evening/weekend events
  • Intermediate computer skills including word-processing, spreadsheets, database management, and website maintenance are necessary
  • Must have communications experience with the effective use of social media for program and/or organizational marketing and outreach
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree
  • Understanding of university academic regulations, policies and procedures 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Candidates with an MA degree in a related field in International and Global Education and relevant work experience may also be eligible to teach as an adjunct faculty member in the ITEP program, for additional compensation.
