American University is seeking certified Group Fitness Instructors to teach Group Exercise classes. Candidates must have a current Group Fitness Instructor certification and/or specialty certification. Experience in teaching one of the following formats - HIIT (high low aerobics), barre, strength, small group training, Zumba, dance fit, Pilates, kickboxing, or indoor cycling classes - is highly recommended. Open to both internal and external candidates.

Work Environment

  • In-person group fitness classes at American University Main Campus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Part-Time.

Salary Range

  • Starting at $24/hour and commensurate with experience.

Required Education and Experience

Must hold a current Group Fitness Instructor certification. Examples of accepted certifications:

  • ACE group fitness certification.
  • ACSM group exercise instructor certification.
  • AFAA group fitness instructor certification.
  • NETA group exercise instructor certification.
  • Zumba instructor certification.
  • Indoor cycling certification.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Candidates will be expected to complete an audition.
