Part-time Event Coordinator

Position Summary

The Event Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Event Manager with the coordination and oversight of meetings and events hosted by the
Kogod School of Business.
Responsibilities include various administrative tasks, maintaining the event calendar, documentation and cataloguing of event details,
logistical/operational support for events and programming initiatives, communication with internal and external vendors/caterers, organization of setup
and clean up for events, coordination of AV needs, and event budgeting.
The position works collaboratively with staff and faculty, most closely with the operations team, and directly reports to the Event Manager and the
Director of Strategic Communications.
Flexible schedule, typically 5 hours per day Monday through Friday, but must be willing and able to work occasional evening and weekend events.

Educational Requirments

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of progressive event management/higher education experience or experience in a related field
  • Ability to collaborate, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work effectively with diverse constituencies and across administrative lines
  • Demonstrated event planning, problem-solving, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, professional demeanor, and strong sense of responsibility to ensure events run smoothly
  • Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, working familiarity with Microsoft Office

Additional Information

  • 25 hours per week
  • $20.00/hr
