Summary/Objective

The Producer, Podcasts is responsible for producing and editing audio series alongside the podcast team. During its season, this position is the primary hands-on producer and editor for podcast Dish City, shepherding each episode from concept to final sound design and polish.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time temporary position for 6 months
  • The standard workweek for this position is 35 hours/week

Required Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of audio storytelling and/or journalism experience
  • High level of aptitude with audio editing and sound design, with a firm grasp of one or more editing platforms
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to offer and accept constructive feedback
  • Experience prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines for one or more audio projects
  • Highly organized, experience setting up audio file inventories and tracking tape assets
  • Demonstrates an interest in mentoring other teammates, including contractors and interns
  • Exceptional writing skills and editorial judgment
  • Experience using multimedia content production and other online tools to edit photos, audio, and video,(WordPress, Adobe, Final Cut Pro)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Driven and scrappy, demonstrates creative problem-solving skills
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
