Summary/Objective
Essential Functions
- Supports the physical development of student-athletes for all phases of season, pre- and post-season. Assists in design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs in coordination with the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance. Supervises workouts suggests plans or modifications for athletes in assigned sports. This individual will also work closely with the Athletic Training Staff and Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance in implementation of sport specific and gender specific injury prevention programs; make suggestions and coordinate the strengthening program with an emphasis on injury prevention and safe, timely and healthy recovery and rehabilitation for athletic related injuries. They also need to prepare regular reports to Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance and sport head coaches concerning the status and progress of the student-athletes.
- Assists in day to day management of strength room, records, and equipment under supervision of Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance and keeps all equipment, room and records in good order. Reports any major concerns or need for equipment maintenance or repair to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.
- Coordinates with Athletic Training Staff on all aspects of team strength and condition programs and injury recovery and prevention with assigned sports or athletes.
- Participate in continuing education through attendance at conferences, symposium and readings to maintain knowledge of current techniques, trends and advancements in physical development.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

- Nights and Weekend work is essential.
Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, biomechanics or related field.

Ccertification in strength and conditioning (NSCA/CSCS or SCCC) required..

One year experience of relevant experience on the collegiate or professional level required.

Experience with multi sport weight training programs and individualizing workouts to reduce risk of injury and enhance performance.
Preferred Education and Experience
-
1-3 years of relevant experience.
