Summary/Objective

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative, logistical, and programmatic support for of the “Promoting Effective Access to Justice for Victims of Sexual and Gender-based Violence in Syria” Project.  The project seeks to provide support to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, as well as their extended networks, by promoting enhanced civil society engagement and supporting justice and accountability efforts in Syria and in neighboring countries through a victim-centered approach.

Salary Range

  • Commensurate with experience

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

  • Minimum two years’ experience working on projects in or on the Middle East and/or North Africa region
  • Minimum of two to four years of related office administration, project management, and event planning experience
  • Experience in Arabic-English and English-Arabic translation
  • Demonstrated general understanding of cultural and social norms in the Middle East and North Africa region
  • Understanding of and proven commitment to international human rights and gender issues
  • Language requirements include fluency and excellent writing skills in English and Arabic
  • Cultural sensitivity and capacity to work collaboratively with partners and other staff
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in  Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to take initiative and solve problems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain professionalism in difficult circumstances

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working on projects involving human rights and armed conflict issues
