Summary/Objective

The Graduate Assistant to the Office of Research Integrity will assist in the operations and communications of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Office of Research (OR). The graduate assistant will assist members of the AU community in filing, reviewing, and managing approvals of IRB proposals. The Graduate Assistant will also assist in posting content to OR’s Twitter page as well as locating funding opportunities for the AU community.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with managing IRB workflow using Cayuse software
  • Activate new account requests in Cayuse
  • Facilitate communications between researchers, OR, and the IRB
  • Attend and annotate IRB meetings
  • Provide frontline support to Cayuse IRB users
  • Posting content to the OR Twitter page
  • Locating funding opportunities

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • 15-20 hours per week

Salary Range

  • $15.20/hr

Required Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled graduate student at American University
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong Communication Skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with Human Subjects Research
  • Prior administrative experience in higher education       
  • Social media experience
  • Summer availability
