Summary/Objective

The American University Market Pantry Assistant will work in conjunction with the Office of Campus Life Student Engagement team in support of successful food pantry operations.  The Office of Campus Life is seeking a graduate student to provide support for the AU Market Food Pantry program to mitigate food insecurity issues on campus.

Essential Functions

  •  
  • Develop the Food Pantry program including all processes and procedures for procuring and distributing food to students in need
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the AU Market Pantry (inventory updates, volunteer coordination, data collection, student staff supervision, social media updates, community outreach and website management)
  • Market and promote the Food Pantry to AU student dealing with food security including traditional and social media marketing applications
  • Partnership/ Community Outreach and Relations- These partners include Athletics, Conference Services, Dining Service, Housing & Residential Life, Center for Community Engagement and Service, Center for Diversity & Inclusion, Center for Student Involvement, and the Office of Campus Life
  • Evaluate and assess efficiencies of the Food Pantry program
  • Committee leadership for the Market Pantry advisory council

Required Education and Experience

  • Earned Bachelor's Degree
  • Admission to a fulltime American University on-campus graduate program
  • Organized and detailed orientated
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Provide appropriate support and maintain confidentiality of personal information of student applicants

Salary Range

  • $16/hr
