Essential Functions

The School of Public Affairs (SPA) Office of Student Services Attendant responsibilities include: 
  1. Supporting Office Manager as point of contact in SPA for students, faculty, staff, and visitors in Kerwin Hall.
  2. Checking-in students for graduate, undergraduate, and career center advising appointments.
  3. Greeting prospective students and connecting them with graduate student ambassadors.
  4. Providing excellent customer service by answering routine queries about SPA, providing directions, and answering inquiries about major events on campus.
  5. Scheduling appointments and daily drop-in sessions for advisors.
  6. Maintaining inventory list for the Office of Student Services (Kerwin Hall 106 & Kerwin Hall 102).
  7. Supporting and maintaining the Kerwin Hall lobby layout.
  8. Supporting and maintaining the Office of Student Services.
  9. Signing for and distributing mail for the Office of Student Services.
  10. Assisting the Director of Recruitment in preparation for special events.
  11. Providing support to graduate and undergraduate advisors.
  12. Performing other tasks as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  •  Multiple positions are available immediately for current students who are available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.    

Salary Range

  • $16.10/hour.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Preference will be given to SPA students.
  • This position is open and available to students with and without a work study award.       
  • Position requires customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interface professionally with alumni, parents, staff, faculty, and students.
  • Requires ability to work independently with minimal direction and ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Eligible candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Google documents.
