Annual Giving Student Assistant

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations seeks a highly motivated and organized undergraduate or graduate student to assist the Office of Annual Giving

Essential Functions

  • General administrative duties, including: data entry, filing, record keeping, mailing preparation
  • Supporting direct marketing implementation and follow-up, including electronic and print media
  • Supporting donor outreach and stewardship, including: record keeping and tracking, correspondence
  • Provides administrative support
  • Data entry
  • Creation of documents for meetings
  • Preparation of briefing materials
  • Assistance with various emails and mailings
  • Other miscellaneous administrative tasks.  

Work Environment

  • 4401 Connecticut Avenue; Partial office presence is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a part time (12-15 hours per week) position for the academic school year and during the summer months.

Salary Range

  • $15.20/hr and up

Required Education and Experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet research
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at American University

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Applicants with previous experience in fundraising for non-profit groups or organizations and/or with email marketing experience are preferred.
