Summary/Objective
American University's Washington College of Law (WCL) is seeking a Staff Assistant for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The Humphrey Fellows are highly accomplished mid-career professionals pursuing professional and academic development activities in international and human rights law. The Staff Assistant will be highly organized and independent, have superior interpersonal communication skills, have a genuine interest in learning about other cultures, and be able to handle many tasks at once. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is important. Responsibilities will vary from week to week but will include planning events, helping fellows register for classes and find housing, and updating the Facebook page.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- 20 - 27 hour per week
Salary Range
- $15 - $17 per hour
Required Education and Experience
- A High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
- The incumbent must be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree.
