Lead Graduate Ambassador – Office of Graduate Admissions, Kogod School of Business

The Kogod School of Business Office of Graduate Admissions oversees the entire application process for the Full-Time MBA, along with seven on-campus Master’s of Science programs. Our Graduate Ambassadors are a key part of the admissions process, serving as the prospective students’ first key insight into student life here at Kogod. We are seeking a detail oriented, self-starter to lead our team of Graduate Ambassadors, all the while serving as an ambassador for Kogod themselves. This role is an exciting opportunity for a current student not only interested in understanding of graduate admissions and student recruitment, but who is also looking to take a leadership role.

You are:

  • A current graduate student at American University’s Kogod School of Business.
  • Organized, proactive, and have a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Committed to good customer service. Have you worked in retail, telemarketing, or at a coffee shop? If so, we want to hear from you!

You will:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between our prospective students and Graduate Ambassador team.
  • Assist the full-time Admissions staff in overseeing a team of approximately 20 Graduate Ambassadors.
  • Meet potential applicants face-to-face and provide information on the range of courses, the admissions processes, and offer campus tours (in compliance with full COVID-19 protocols in place at the time).
  • Coordinate campus visits and admissions conversations with various faculty and staff.
  • Provide support for prospective student contact via email, phone, and front desk operations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned, typically surrounding applicant outreach.

The Fine Print:

  • This position is for the 2022-2023 Academic Year and will be for 15-20 hours/week.
  • Scheduled work hours are flexible within Monday through Friday between 9:00am-5:00pm.
  • Candidate must be able and willing to work in an in-person environment depending on CDC/AU guidelines.
