Library Social Content Student Assistant

Summary/Objective

The Library Social Content Assistant helps with producing a variety of videos and graphic elements to be featured on the Library’s social media channels: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Creating high quality video and graphics content (shooting, editing, post-production)
  • Writing and editing copy for library communications
  • Assisting with library events as needed
  • Assisting with special projects as assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • 12-15 hours per week

Salary Range

  • $13.25/hr

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have previous experience taking concepts/ideas and creating video content for social media and the web
  • Familiarity with iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere
  • Skills in time management and attention to detail 
  • Ability to communicate with professionals at all levels within the organization. Applicants must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity with social networking sites, and must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • The ideal applicant will also demonstrate initiative, the ability to prioritize, and be attentive to detail.  S/he should be organized, self-motivated and able to see projects through to completion  
  • High school degree

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two years of college
  • Previous experience with event coordination and academic, web, or promotional writing
  • Pursuing degree in film, media production, media arts, and/or communications
