OCL Food Pantry Operations Assistant

Summary/Objective

The Office of Campus Life is seeking a Federal Work Study student worker to provide support for the AU Market Food Pantry program to mitigate food insecurity issues on campus in conjunction with the Office of Campus Life Student Engagement team.

Essential Functions

  • Stock pantry shelves and track food pantry inventory for weekly and monthly reports and inform Associate Director of low food stock.
  • Organize backend pantry client data, track food distribution.
  • Verify and update community resources to share with students in need.
  • Assist with pantry distribution days (drive-thru and in-pantry stocking and inventory).
  • Assist with preparations for Market Pantry events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Show excellent customer service to our customers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  •  Federal Work Study
  • 15 hours per week
  • Preference given to availability during open hours of the Market or delivery/stocking time: 
    •  Monday: 12-7 PM (open Market)
    • Tuesday:12-3 PM (delivery/stocking)
    • Wednesday: 12 pm - 7 pm (open Market)
    • Thursday: 12-3 PM (delivery/stock)
    • Friday: 11 am - 4 pm (open Market)

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 6 months of work or volunteer experience
