Part-time AUx Staff Assistant

Position Summary

The American University Experience (AUx) program seeks to hire a part-time staff assistant.  The incumbent will provide support for administrative tasks associated with the AUx program.

 

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

 

  • Assist with the supervision and support of ~60 undergraduate Peer Facilitators
    • Plan on-going trainings and development opportunities for Peer Facilitators
    • Develop and implement Peer Facilitator social events
    • Conduct group and individual check-ins with Peer Facilitators
  • Help with Peer Facilitator recruitment, application review, and interview process
  • Support the AUx Student Advisory Board members with reaching their identified goals
  • Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of program-wide events
  • Coordinate regular posts on social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)

Minimum Qualifications Including Education

Bachelor’s Degree required and current enrollment in a graduate level program of study at American University.

 

  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Previous event planning and administrative support experience
  • Attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage diverse activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Work with general supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing student employees. 

Additional Information about the Position

  • This position is available effective immediately through June 2021. The position is part-time (average of 20 hours per week) and the regular hours are expected to be between 9 – 5. 
  • Some night and weekend commitments are possible. 

Salary Range

  • $18 - $20 per hour
