Part-time Program Specialist, FDDS

Position Summary

This position will support the planning, implementation and marketing of events and programs, schedule meetings, manage the FDDS LinkedIn Group, support program communications by monitoring and managing the FDDS Slack account, the FDDS Outlook Inbox and updating the FDDS website and provide administrative support to the Managing Director of the Frederick Douglas Distinguished Scholars Program in support of the Masterclass Instructor, Faculty Fellows and Advisory Committee as well as providing general office support. This individual must be collaborative, reliable, and resourceful. Will be exceptionally well-organized, able to function independently and effectively multitask, possess sound judgment, professional demeanor, and take initiative under minimal supervision. 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three (3) years of relevant administrative experience providing office and event support or one (1) year of executive administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in higher education administration or equivalent experience and/ or pursuit of a graduate degree in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Prior work experience in an academic or non-profit setting 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Outlook, FileMaker Pro, Share Point, Photoshop, CommonSpot, Datatel, Slack, LinkedIn and social media management is helpful

  • Ability and interest in working with high-achieving, ethnically diverse students.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written 
  • Strong computer skills required with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel 
  • Experience planning, managing, and executing large scale events and meetings. 
  • Exceptional work ethic, self-motivated, and trustworthy

Salary Range

  • $16.50 per hour
