Summary/Objective

The Print Center Student Assistant staffs the Print Center and assists Library patrons with printing, computer operations, photocopying, scanning and wireless network access. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the Print Center Student Assistant’s primary role will be to provide mediated printing services to the AU Community.

 

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Printing requested documents for Library patrons
  • Troubleshooting printers and access to the internet connection and helping patrons install wireless printing software
  • Maintaining the print center by restocking paper and other supplies
  • Providing directions and making referrals to other library departments and campus offices
  • Addressing patrons’ complaints
  • Recording customer contact data and other statistics
  • Helping patrons register their ID/printing card to the printing system
  • Assisting patrons with printing funds issues

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • 10- 12 Hours/Week
  • Ideal candidates will be available to work Thursdays-Saturday between the hours of 9am-6pm.

Salary Range

  •  $15.20/Hour

Required Education and Experience

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organization, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collegially with members from all over the organization and to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of basic PC and Mac computer operations, including MS Office and Google Drive files, and familiarity with basic computer image and document file formats (pdf, jpg, png).

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Working knowledge of technology and software that goes beyond the minimum requirements.
