Student Organization Graduate Assistant

The AU Club Council Graduate Student Assistant is a member of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) office who facilitates student leadership, involvement, and engagement opportunities. This position provides advising and leadership development for recognized student organizations and co-advises the American University Club Council (AUCC).


  • Co-advise AUCC with Coordinator of Student Involvement
  • Provide support for student organizations with virtual involvement, event planning, and AUCC funding
  • Hold bi-weekly one-on-one’s with AUCC Club Consultants
  • Facilitate monthly leadership development trainings
  • Support organization programming
  • Assist with the New Club Registration process
  • Attend CSI weekly staff meetings and support CSI community wide programs

Work Environment

  • In person/virtual depending on CDC/AU guidelines

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Part time 20 hours a week

Salary Range

  • $16/hr

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Experience in or working with student organizations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with student organization management or leadership development
  • Ability to adapt to and work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work collaboratively
