WAMU Help Desk Support Agent- FWS

Summary/Objective

The student work study position will assist in triaging and responding to listener and member inquiries received from WAMU’s help desk. Inquiries include on-air or online story searches, WAMU produced show inquiries and reassigning tickets to various groups within the help desk. The student will utilize prepared macros to help respond and tailor responses for more nuanced messages. Overall, the student will help in addressing a backlog of tickets and maintaining a 48-hour response time goal.

Work Environment

  • Our office is located at 4401 Connecticut Avenue NW, one block from the Van Ness-UDC Metro station. However, this position is currently remote. The position will shift to in-person or remote work under guidance from American University.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a FWS position.
  • 10- 15 hours/week.

Salary Range

  • $15.20/hour.

Required Education and Experience

  • Student must have an interest in or experience in customer service.
  • Student must have good office level communication skills.
